The proportion of women studying increases, but only a few are pursuing careers at the university. Jutta Dalhoff, head of the Centre of Excellence Women and Science (CEWS), talks about possible reasons in an interview with Stephanie Gebert on the pages of Deutschlandfunk "Campus & Career".

According to the Federal Statistical Office, 30 percent of 30- to 34-year-old women have a university degree. Nevertheless, only a few of them pursue a further career in the academic world. In Germany, only every fifth professorship is held by a woman.
