The many faces of GESIS

Vita

Alex Seitz (he/him) was born in Stuttgart in 1998. From 2016 to 2024, he studied political science, English and American studies, and geography at the Universities of Freiburg and Heidelberg. In 2024, he received his master's degree as the top graduate of his class in political science at the University of Heidelberg. During his studies, he worked as a research assistant for the Institute for Energy Efficiency in Production at the University of Stuttgart (2019) and for the Economic Geography Group at the University of Heidelberg (2022-2023), among other positions. Since September 2024, he has been a research associate in the Survey Design and Methodology (SDM) department at GESIS. In addition to his work at GESIS, he is pursuing a doctorate in sociology at the University of Mannheim.

Research

My current research focuses on social inequality in Europe, with a particular emphasis on ethnic minorities, political efficacy, and participation.
In addition, my research interests include issues of energy policy, urban-rural differences, and survey methodology topics such as nonresponse bias, interviewer effects, and mode effects.
