Vita
Dr. Carina Cornesse studied Sociology at the universities of Mainz and Frankfurt am Main and obtained her doctorate at the Graduate School for Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Mannheim. She started her scientific career as a research assistant in the GESIS Panel Team within the Survey Design & Methodology department. Over the years, she has worked as a research associate at the Collaborative Research Center on the Political Economy of Reforms (SFB 884) at the University of Mannheim and at the Research Data Center of the Research Institute Social Cohesion (RDC RISC) at the University of Bremen.
Most recently, Dr. Cornesse served as a guest professor in Social Stratification and Survey Methodology at Freie Universität Berlin. She also led the SOEP Innovation Sample and the German Social Cohesion Panel within the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW). Her research focuses on the development and quality assurance of innovative data collection methods, evaluating the strengths and limitations of probability-based and nonprobability samples, and panel study recruitment and maintenance of panel.
