Vita

Hao-Ting (Bryan) Chan is currently a Doctoral Researcher in the Computational Social Science (CSS) Department. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Economics from Yamanashi Gakuin University, Japan.

At GESIS, Bryan is involved in the AIRESIL Project (AI-Powered Survey Infrastructures to Enhance Resilience Research), where he contributes to the development of innovative survey methods integrating AI and web tracking data to address resilience research challenges. As a doctoral researcher, his work focuses on leveraging large language models (LLMs) to enhance survey responses and mitigate biases in longitudinal data collection.

Research

Hao Ting's research lies at the intersection of computational social science, natural language processing (NLP), and the application of large language models (LLMs) to survey and behavioral data.
