Research assistant RDM training and consulting

(Salary group 13 TV-L, working time 100 %, fixed term until Sep. 30, 2026, parental leave replacement)
 

The department Data Services for the Social Sciences offers sustainable infrastructures and services for data management, curation, and long-term preservation. Its mission is to foster FAIR data, open science, and reproducible research in the quantitative and computational social sciences. This includes archiving services with different curation levels for individual researchers, projects, and institutions, providing access to archived data, including access to sensitive data, the data registration agency da|ra, and data management trainings. The German Network of Educational Research Data (VerbundFDB) is an association of research data centres that jointly provide scientific infrastructure services for empirical educational research. Among other things, VerbundFDB provides a comprehensive range of training, information and consulting services.

Your tasks will be:

  • Delivering training courses and workshops on research data management in educational research
  • Advising projects and researchers on developing data management plans and addressing other research data management issues
  • Contributing to the development of concepts, standards, and workflows for the joint data infrastructure of VerbundFDB
  • Conducting research on research data management topics, preferably within the context of social sciences and educational research

Your profile:

  • Completed master's degree, preferably in a social science or humanities discipline
  • Extensive knowledge in research data management; practical experience in data curation and research data management is an advantage
  • Experience in designing and implementing training programs
  • Proficiency in written and spoken German and good English skills
