Die Studie „FReDA – Das familiendemografische Panel“ wird gemeinsam vom Bundesinstitut für Bevölkerungsforschung (BiB), dem Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften GESIS und der Universität zu Köln aufgebaut. Kern dieser Datenerhebung sind jährliche Wiederholungsbefragungen von 18- bis 49-jährigen Frauen und Männern im Rahmen einer repräsentativen Stichprobe. Die Erkenntnisse für Deutschland können systematisch mit anderen Ländern verglichen werden.

Starting signal for "FReDA - The Family Demographic Panel"

The study "FReDA - The Family Demographic Panel" is being jointly developed by the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB), the Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences GESIS and the University of Cologne. At the core of this data collection are annual repeat surveys of 18- to 49-year-old women and men in a representative sample. The findings for Germany can be systematically compared with other countries.

Populistische Parteien in der Regierung zeigen trotz ihres politischen Versagens ein hohes Maß an Widerstandsfähigkeit. Die Autorinnen stellen fest, dass ein Treuebruch der Wählerinnen und Wähler häufiger dann auftritt, wenn sie nicht glauben, dass ihre Partei für sie gekämpft hat, und seltener, wenn die Positionen der Wähler nicht mit der tatsächlich umgesetzten Politik übereinstimmen.

Populist parties in government show high levels of resilience despite their policy failures. The authors find that voter defection more often happens when voters do not believe their party fought for them and less often when voters' positions are incongruent with the policies that are actually implemented.

Gleichstellung von Frauen und Männern in Entscheidungsgremien an Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen

In Hochschulleitungen sind fast 30 Prozent Frauen tätig, und 21 Prozent der Rektor*innen und Präsident*innen sind Frauen. Dagegen liegt der Frauenanteil an den Fakultätsleitungen lediglich bei 18 Prozent. Dies ist eines der Ergebnisse des Berichtes, den das Kompetenzzentrum Frauen in Wissenschaft und Forschung CEWS erstellte.

Gender equality in decision comittees in universities and research institutions

Nearly 30 percent of university leaders are women, and 21 percent of the rectors and presidents are women. In contrast, the proportion of women in faculty leadership is only 18 percent. This is one of the findings of the report prepared by the Centre of Excellence Women and Science (CEWS).

Adopting a differentiated threat approach, the authors investigated the relationship between cultural, economic, and criminal threat on attitudes toward four different ethnic minorities in Germany (Muslims, foreigners, refugees, and Sinti and Roma).
