Nachdem die erste Staffel "Best-Practice-Methoden in der Umfrageforschung" 13 Vorträge umfasste, die inzwischen alle als Video auf YouTube verfügbar sind, folgt im Herbst/Winter 2021 die zweite Staffel: "Computational Social Science and Digital Behavioral Data".

Dear readers,

our online lecture series "Meet the Experts" was and still is a complete success story. After the first season "Best Practice Methods in Survey Research" comprised 13 talks, all of which are now available as videos on YouTube, the second season will follow in fall/winter 2021: "Computational Social Science and Digital Behavioral Data".

Call for Applications: EUROLAB Grants - Deadline for applications is October 15, 2021

GESIS is pleased to invite applications for one-month research visits at its research lab in Cologne. Individual researchers who want to conduct research and work with data available at GESIS may apply for a grant to access our data at GESIS. The research stay can be planned for a period of one month starting from January up to December 2022.

Inwiefern Gesundheitsfachkräfte COVID-19 Impfungen empfehlen, welchen Impfstoff sie präferieren und inwieweit ihre Impfempfehlungen von öffentlichen Debatten beeinflusst werden, wurde bislang nicht näher erforscht.

Health professionals can make an important contribution to increasing COVID-19 vaccination uptake through their opinions and recommendations. The extent to which health professionals recommend COVID-19 vaccination, which vaccine they prefer, and the extent to which their vaccination recommendations are influenced by public debates has not yet been explored in detail.

Die neue Abteilung Research Data & Methods (RDM) nimmt am Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) ihre Arbeit auf und zählt dabei auf die Expertise von GESIS.

Als zentrales Institut für Digitalisierungsforschung baut das CAIS das eigene Forschungsprogramm mit einem interdisziplinären Team von Wissenschaftler*innen aus.

In this article, the author evaluate whether educational attainment in Germany is stratified by parental wealth and at which transitions stratification emerges. He proposes a four-stage model to capture the emergence of stratification in the German education system, which is characterized by early between-school tracking.

In diesem Beitrag wird untersucht, wie Atheismus und Nationalstolz zusammenhängen. Frühere Forschung hat gezeigt, dass zwischen Religiosität und Nationalstolz ein starker positiver Zusammenhang besteht. Im Umkehrschluss kann angenommen werden, dass Atheisten weniger Nationalstolz empfinden.

This paper explores how atheism relates to national pride. Previous research reports the strong positive relationship between religiosity and national pride. Inversely, it can be assumed that atheists feel less national pride.
