Vita

Alexia Katsanidou leads the GESIS Department Data Archive for the Social Sciences since April 2015.

She has an M.A. in Comparative Democratization (2003) and a Ph.D. in Politics (2008) from the Government Department at Essex University, UK. She studied International Politics and Economics at the University of Macedonia, Greece. In the period 2010-2015 she has lead the Team International Data Infrastructures at the GESIS Data Archive for the Social Sciences.
Alexia Katsanidou is in the Board of Directors of CESSDA (Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives) and in Secretary of the Board of IFDO (International Federation of Data Organisations)

Research

Alexia Katsanidou's research interests include political behavior, quality of representation and radicalization of European societies. She has been awarded the Max Weber post-doc Fellowship in European University Institute for the year 2009-2010 as well as research grants from the British Academy and the Max Planck Society the DFG and the European Union (FP7 and H2020). Her work has been published or is forthcoming, among others, in European Union Politics, West European Politics, European Political Science, International Journal of Conflict and Violence, International Studies Perspectives.
