Constantin Hammer studied law at the University of Mannheim. In addition to the first state examination in law, he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). The LL.B. combines legal issues with the educational spectrum of business administration and economics. He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe with the second state examination in law.

Since March 2022, Constantin Hammer has been responsible for legal affairs at GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. One focus of his work is data protection law in the context of research with digital behavioral data.
Constantin Hammer is a member of the Leibniz Association's Data Protection Working Group and an advisory member of the GESIS Ethics Committee.
