Vita

Julia Weiß studied political science and sociology in Mannheim, Heidelberg and at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and graduated with a Master of Arts in August 2017. From October 2017, she was a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Jale Tosun (University of Heidelberg) and, among other things, a member of the BMBF-funded project "Change through Crises? Solidarity and Desolidarization in Germany and Europe" (Solikris). Her doctoral thesis dealt with the effects of economic deprivation on individuals. More specifically, the focus was on the one hand on the influence on values and attitudes of individuals and on the other hand on how economic deprivation affect people's political participation behavior. Since April 2022, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the Data and Research on Society Department (National Election Studies Team) and responsible for the focus on linking survey data and digital behavioral data.
