Service

I am the leader of the team, "Scale Development and Documentation." My team (currently six postdocs and four Ph.D. candidates) edits the Collection of Items and Scales (ZIS), an open-access online repository for measurement instruments. More than 260 measurement instruments are freely available for research purposes from ZIS. Most of these scales are in German, but we are publishing a growing number of scales in English. You are cordially invited to publish your measurement instruments in ZIS (it will receive a DOI) and in our new open-access journal Measurement Instruments for the Social Sciences (MISS).

My team and I also offer consulting services on various methodological topics related to scale development, psychometrics,  and statistical modeling (e.g., measuring invariance testing). We bring our methodological expertise to international research projects such as the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC).

Research

My research focuses on individual differences in cognitive ability, personality, and values. I am interested in these constructs' (1) measurement, (2) life-span development, and (3) relationships with outcomes such as academic performance and career success. My research is committed to a developmental contextualist perspective. This perspective highlights that individual and environmental factors co-shape lifespan development and life outcomes in an interactive fashion.

My research has been funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Leibniz Association, and others. For more information on my research, including many full-text articles, please visit my profile on ResearchGate.
