Digitalisierung im Dialog (digilog@bw)

Digitalization is changing social coexistence in a variety of, sometimes fundamental, ways. The aim of digilog@bw is to identify the influence of digitization on people and the resulting social changes and to analyze them in an interdisciplinary way. The project wants to create the basis for shaping digital change in a technically and politically positive way for the benefit of people.

Under the direction of the University of Mannheim, the consortium aims to work on criteria for a responsible shaping of the digital society in the three joint projects "Autonomy", "Knowledge" and "Participation".

GESIS is involved in the field of "Participation" together with the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES). This subproject focuses on the effects of digitization (e.g. social media) on political participation and political communication.
