OAGESIS 2 - Open-Access-Publikationskosten/2025-2027/GESIS (OAGESIS II)

The conclusions of transformative contracts with the big publishers lead to a substantial increase of open access publication in hybrid journals. This also leads to rising costs, especially since GESIS is faced with high publication based back payments resulting from the DEAL contracts, which GESIS pays in its entirety. To this course we apply for additional funding within this program. This extra funding will be accompanied by three work packages to further optimize the monitoring of the publication output and it’s expenses and to reduce transaction costs in handling of bills through its further digitization. The aim is to produce respective overviews on publication expenses and the information budget „with the push of a button”. An additional work package addresses the intensification and extension of the internal open access information strategy of GESIS.
