We are delighted to invite you to the German-Canadian Conference on Migration & Integration: Young (Forced) Migrants and their Families, which is jointly organized by GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and IMIS – Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies. The conference will take place on November 11 and 12, 2019 at the University of Osnabrück.
The conference will bring together migration scholars from Germany and Canada to discuss findings as well as methodological and conceptual issues associated with research on young (forced) migrants and their families.
The event will cover topics such as:
- Educational biographies in the migration process and integration of newcomers in school systems,
- The influence of household conditions, family constellations, and local environments on integration processes,
- Refugee-oriented policies, and
- Methods-oriented review of empirical literature in the field.
The program of the conference will be circulated in September 2019. We look forward to welcoming you in Osnabrück!
