100 sociological classics published on SSOAR

In cooperation with the University Library of Cologne, who digitized these works SSOAR was able to archive more than 100 sociological classics and make them available under a CC0-licence (public domain). These classic date back to the 19th and the 20th century. Among them are works from Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, Ferdinand Tönnies with the first explicit sociological work "Gemeinschaft und Gesellschaft" from 1887, the physician and sociologist Franz Oppenheimer (1864-1943), the philosopher Georg Simmel (1858-1918), the french sociologist Maurice Halbwachs with his formative studies on the collective memory, Werner Sombart (1863-1941) and Karl Mannheim (1893-1947),  Émile Durkheim (1858-1917) as well as the founder of modern political sciences  Robert Michels (1876-1936).
