Standards, Guidelines and Quality Assurance for Gender Equality in Academia

Project results

From 2019 till 2023, CEWS conducted the BMBF-funded project Standards, Guidelines and Quality Assurance for Measures for Gender Equality in Academia (StaRQ). The key findings were published in March 2023 in the following publication: Bestandsaufnahme und Handlungsempfehlungen zur Qualitätssicherung von Gleichstellungsmaßnahmen in der Wissenschaft: Ergebnisse aus dem Projekt StaRQ (Analysis and Guidelines for Quality Assurance of Gender Equality Measures in Academia: Results from the StaRQ project)

The publication is in German. It presents some key findings from the BMBF-funded project StaRQ (2019-2023). StaRQ investigated the quality assurance of gender equality measures in academia based on the fields of action gender sensitivity, mentoring and active recruitment. The project team developed practice-oriented recommendations for each of these three fields of action. For the analysis, both a theory and practice research were carried out. For the practical research, the focus was on the (partially) automated analysis of university websites on gender equality measures using methodological approaches from the field of data mining of web data (web crawl). In addition, gender equality officers at universities were interviewed for an online survey on structures and standards for the development and review of measures.

Here you will find the further results of the project research.
