Information Linking umfasst die Entwicklung von Modellen für die Verknüpfung von heterogenen Informationstypen mit Semantic-Web-Technologien. Information Retrieval befasst sich mit der Entwicklung von Modellen, welche die Informationssuche optimieren. Schwerpunkte in diesem Teilbereich sind:

  • Nutzerstudien und Logdatenanalysen zum Informationsverhalten von SozialwissenschaftlerInnen
  • Verlinkung unterschiedlicher Informationsobjekte und Verknüpfung von Umfragedaten mit Forschungsdaten aus anderen wissenschaftlichen Domänen
  • Vereinfachung und Personalisierung von Informationssuchen
  • Fachspezifische Recommender- und Rankingdienste
  • Integrierte Informationszugriffe durch Berücksichtigung verlinkter Information (“Link Retrieval”)
  • Neuartige Metriken zur Evaluation interaktiver Retrievalsysteme auf der Basis von Logdaten
