Every two months an updated version of the GESIS Panel master dataset is released that includes new data from the last wave as well as revisions from previous waves. Data will be accessible about three months after the end of the field period.
We provide two versions of this master dataset via our GESIS DBK Archive:
First, a scientific use file accessible for research purposes (Standard Edition) and second, a secure scientific use file (Extended Edition) that is only available for on-site use at the Secure Data Center in Cologne. Please find more information and contact details on our web pages: http://www.gesis.org/sdc.
Along with the dataset all documents are stored centrally in the GESIS DBK Archive. Due to privacy protection rules some variables are not included in the scientific use file but are only included in the secure scientific use file. The differences between the versions are marked in the Codebook.
To access the scientific use file (Standard Edition), Researchers need to complete and sign a data use agreement. Therefore, please follow the bilingual instruction on:
To allow students to use the data within the limits of a thesis, the supervisor has to request the data. Upon approval of the data use request, the data archive will provide researchers with access to the current scientific use file via secure ftp download.
