By participating, you are supporting a joint project between GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and the SHARE BERLIN Institute funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Within the framework of this survey, we aim to investigate authors’ decision-making in the publication process, based on studies fielded in the GESIS Panel or the Innovation Sample of the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP-IS) between 2012 and 2021. The entire survey takes on average between 10 and 20 minutes to complete (depending on the number of study submissions).

As a thank-you for responding to this survey, you will be offered an incentive of between EUR 10 and EUR 20. The level of the incentive will depend on the number of study submissions for which you can answer study-specific questions. You may opt to (1) donate the money to a nonprofit charitable organization for environmental and/or animal protection or social welfare, (2) receive it in the form of an online gift voucher, or (3) forgo the incentive payment.

The project partners of the two institutes mentioned above are the only ones who will have access to the raw data set. More information on joint controllership within the meaning of Article 26 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) can be found here (233 kB).

Participation in the survey is voluntary. You may withdraw your consent at any time and/or choose not to answer any particular question. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
