Vita

I am a Research Associate at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Cologne. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Amsterdam School of Communcation Research (ASCoR) and gained my PhD from the European University Institute, visiting the Data Science Lab of Hertie School in Berlin and the psychology department of New York University. Before that I studied at the University of Oxford, the University of Bayreuth and the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. I also spent some years working at the tech startup Opinary and as a freelance journalist, e.g. writing for the Economist.

I am Data Editor at Political Communication and co-chair of the Political Communcation track of the General Online Research conference.

Forschung

For my research in computational social science with a focus on mis/disinformation, trust, polarization and negative campaigning, I use experimental methods, surveys, digital traces and social media data. My research has been published in journals such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Political Communcation and the Journal of Experimental Political Science.
