Mitarbeiterin des Rechenzentrums der Universität Mannheim (1976); Mitarbeiterin in der EDV-Abteilung von ZUMA (1976-1996); ab 1997 in der Fachgruppe "computerunterstützte Text- und Inhaltsanalyse" bei GESIS-ZUMA; seit 2011 im Team Fragebogendesign und -evaluation.

Beratung zu Erhebung und Analyse offener Fragen im Interview, Methoden der (computerunterstützten) Text- und Inhaltsanalyse und  Beratungen zur Clusteranalyse. Workshops zu Clusteranalyse, computerunterstützte Inhaltsanalyse und zu offenen Fragen im Interview.

Forschung

Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt im Bereich der sozialwissenschaftlichen Methodenforschung. Sie war maßgeblich an der Entwicklung des Inhaltsanalyse-Programms TEXTPACK beteiligt. Zu den wichtigsten Themen ihrer Arbeit gehören Erhebung und Analyse offener Fragen in Umfragen und Methoden der (computerunterstützten) Text- und Inhaltsanalyse. Schwerpunkte sind: a) Offene Fragen im Interview, b) Software-Einsatzes bei qualitativen Inhaltsanalysen, c) Kategorienschemata und Codierprozesse, d) Verfahren des automatischen (dictionärbasierten) Codierens, e) die Co-Occurrence-Analyse bzw. Text Mining.
