Forschung

I am a social scientist researching the responsible use of data and of data-driven technologies (e.g., "AI"). In my conceptual and quantitative work, I look at how we can design and foster data practices and data-driven technologies in a way that promotes societal benefits, safeguards the privacy and freedom of individuals, and avoids negative effects on social inequalities.

In the project ASSURED, we develop self-paced online training modules on the safe, ethical, and legal use of sensitive data for research. We envision these modules to become a standard training procedure for researchers who want to access sensitive data at various Secure Data Centers in Germany and potentially beyond.
