Service

Zentrales Serviceangebot meines Teams ist die Zusammenstellung sozialwissenschaftlicher Items und Skalen (ZIS). In ZIS sind mehr als 270 Messinstrumente dokumentiert, die für Forschungszwecke frei verwendet werden können und anhand einer doi zitierbar sind. An ZIS angegliedert ist auch das neue Open-Access-Journal Measurement Instruments for the Social Sciences (MISS). Sie sind herzlich eingeladen, ihre Messinstrumente in ZIS und MISS zu publizieren.

Daneben bieten mein Team und ich forschungsbasierte Beratung rund um die Themen Skalenentwicklung und -validierung, psychometrische Methoden und statistische Modellierung (z. B. Messinvarianztestung) an. Unsere Expertise bringen wir in internationalen Forschungsprojekten wie dem Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) ein.

Forschung

Mein Forschungsinteresse gilt interindividuellen Unterschieden in kognitiven Fähigkeiten, Persönlichkeit und Wertorientierungen. Besonders interessieren mich deren (1) Messung und Modellierung, (2) Entwicklung im Lebenslauf und (3) Zusammenhänge mit Endpunkten wie Schulerfolg und Berufserfolg. Meine Forschung folgt einer kontextualistischen Entwicklungsperspektive. Diese Perspektive betont das interaktive Zusammenwirken von individuellen und Umweltfaktoren als Treiber individueller Entwicklung.
