ISSP 'National Identity I-III' Cumulation (ZA5960, https://doi.org/10.4232/1.13471) and Add On-file (ZA5961, https://doi.org/10.4232/1.13472)

For more than three decades the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) has been conducting annual surveys designed to provide data on topics highly relevant to social science research. National Identity was the thematic focus in three years (1995, 2003 and 2013).

We are very happy to announce the release of a cumulated trend dataset built from these data. It contains opinion and attitude data on issues such as immigration, individual national identity and national pride, prerequisites for others to become citizens, etc.. Covering 31 countries from across the world, these cumulated data allow combined cross-national and trend analyses over two decades.

The cumulated data file (ZA5960) includes: 1) the countries that participated at least twice in an ISSP National Identity module and 2) the variables that were collected as part of the modules, again, at least twice. Relevant variables that could not be cumulated for methodological reasons are still available in the Add On file (ZA5961) which can easily be matched with the cumulated file.
