The coordinating post of Gender Equality in STEM at Saarland University was set up in response to the fact that there is still too little interest among women in studying STEM subjects. This post liaises between the Equal Opportunity Office and a cluster of excellence in computer science and is the point of contact for all gender equality issues relating to STEM. The coordinator will analyse why women are still under-represented in these disciplines as students, doctoral researchers and professors. Using the most up-to-date data available, proposals will be developed to improve the situation. Another task of this role is to make young women aware of the advantages of studying these subjects and of the location of Saarland University.
