PIAAC 2023

The second cycle of PIAAC began in 2018, with 31 participating countries. Data for the main study, for which approximately 5.000 adults between the ages of 16 and 65 were interviewed per country, was collected over several months in 2022/23. The main study was preceded by a field trial in 2021 in which all instruments and procedures were tested. First results will be published in 2024, both internationally and nationally.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research has entrusted GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences with the national implementation of PIAAC in Germany (2018-2024). Led by Prof. Dr. Beatrice Rammstedt and Dipl.-Psych. Anouk Zabal, a team of scientists at GESIS is responsible for the national project management in Germany. They are supported by a scientific advisory board.
