Documentation of the individual waves

Background information such as study descriptions with history and errata, master questionnaires and method reports on the survey are important for interpreting the results of an analysis of the EVS data.

Here you will find detailed information on the individual EVS waves, the trend file and the joint EVS/WVS datasets for your data analysis.

Trends and Collaboration with WVS

In cooperation with the World Values Survey (WVS), the EVS data of the 5th wave were combined with those of the WVS7 to form a 'joint' data set. Here, the central questions of both surveys can be found for countries within and outside Europe.

To facilitate time series analysis, the 'EVS Trend File 1981-2017' has been constructed. For comparisons on an international level, this data file can easily be combined with the 'World Values Surveys Trend File 1981-2022'. The resulting 'Integrated Values Surveys 1981-2022' will cover surveys conducted in 118 countries/regions.
