| Alexia Katsanidou | Alexia Katsanidou is the scientific leader of SoliKris and principal investigator at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. She is the director of the GESIS department Data Archive for the Social Sciences and a professor for empirical social research at the University of Cologne. | |
| Ann-Kathrin Reinl | Ann-Kathrin Reinl is a PhD student and research assistant in the Solikris project (WP2) at Gesis Cologne. In 2016, she received her Master of Science degree in Sociology and Empirical Social Research with the minor Political Science from the University of Cologne. Afterwards she was employed as research assistant at the Professorship of Political Science Research Methods at the University of Regensburg (2016-2018). Her dissertation deals with solidarity and Euroscepticism in times of European Crisis. Furthermore, her research interest focuses on the current rise of left- and right-wing political parties in Europe. | |
| Bernd Weiß | Bernd Weiß is head of the GESIS Panel, a probability-based mixed-mode access panel, and deputy head of the department Survey Design and Methodology at GESIS -- Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences. He is one of the project leaders of SoliKris and head of Work Package 5 "Development and Implementation of Innovative Measurement Instruments in the GESIS Panel". He also serves as co-chair of the Campbell Collaboration training group. Bernd received his doctorate from the University of Cologne. Before joining GESIS, he worked as a visiting professor for research methods at the University of Duisburg-Essen and was a visiting scholar at Florida State University. | Boris Heizmann | Boris Heizmann is Research Associate in the team International Surveys of the Department Data Archive in the Social Sciences. He leads WP3 of the Solikris project entitled „Xenophobia vs. Tolerance“. Apart from this he is responsible for the Eurobarometer Data Service at GESIS. He studied Sociology at the Free University of Berlin and graduated in 2007 with a Diplom (MA equivalent). He conducted his PhD studies at the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena where he earned his Dr.phil. in 2012. In 2011 he was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. From 2012 to 2016 he was a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Hamburg. He joined GESIS in 2016. His main research interests are: Migration-related attitudes, the integration of immigrants, labor market and social inequality, social policy and the welfare state, political sociology. | |
| Christina Eder | Christina Eder is a Senior Researcher and Head of the Research Data Center Elections at GESIS. Within the Solikris project, she heads WP2 “Radicalization vs. Cohesion” together with Alexia. Christina received her PhD from the University of Konstanz where she also worked as a research fellow in a DFG-funded project on “Patterns of democracy in the German Länder”. She has published several peer-reviewed articles, a special issue and an edited volume. As a political scientist by training, her research interests include electoral and non-electoral political participation, political trust, female representation, and the measurement and effects of political institutions. | |
| Heidi Schulze | Heidi Schulze is a doctoral researcher at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. In the SOLIKRIS project, she supports the research in WP4 “Marginalization and Radicalization of Adolescents”. Heidi studied Communication Science, Media Studies, Media Technology, and English Studies in Dresden, Amsterdam, and Braunschweig. Before joining GESIS, she worked as lecturer at the Institute of Media and Communication at TU Dresden. | |
| Ingvill C. Mochmann | Prof. Dr. Ingvill C. Mochmann is head of the EUROLAB at GESIS-Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and Vice President for Research and Knowledge Transfer and Professor of International Politics at the Cologne Business School, Cologne, Germany. She graduated in comparative politics at the University of Bergen, Norway, and holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Giessen, Germany. In 2013-2014 she was a fellow at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI) and is now an affiliated expert of HHI. Her research and publications include party politics and electoral research, democracy and minority rights, children’s rights and research methodology. | |
| Kathrin Busch | Kathrin Busch is a research assistant in WP4 of the Solikris project and contributes to the Gesis’ Training team in the department Knowledge Transfer. She studied cultural sciences at Viadrina European University in Frankfurt/Oder and is currently working on her PhD in comparative political science at the University of Cologne. Before, she was a member of staff of the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES) project at Gesis. Her current research interests are voters’ political sophistication and its impact on voting behavior, populism and voting for political radicals. | |
| Nora Huth | Nora Huth is a research assistant in the Solikris project at GESIS in Cologne. In particular, she works in WP3 “Xenophobia vs. Tolerance”. Nora studied sociology, political science and economics at the University of Cologne and the University of Duisburg. | Roula Nezi | Roula Nezi is leading GESIS component on Working Package 4 examining authoritarian beliefs among young cohorts. She is post-doctoral researcher at GESIS. Previously, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Konstanz, Germany. Her research interests are in the area of public opinion, with a primary interest in political attitudes, political representation, and political accountability. She is also interested in political methodology, including comparative analysis and survey design. For several years she conducted research in many comparative European projects on political representation, political behaviour, and political elites. Her research has been published, among others, in the Journal of European Social Policy, Electoral Studies, Acta Politica, Europe-Asia Studies and the South European Society and Politics. | |
| Steffen Pötzschke | Steffen Pötzschke is a research associate at the department Survey Design and Methodology (SDM) at GESIS – Leibniz-Institute for the Social Sciences in Mannheim (Germany). He is part of the team which implements work page 5 of the Solikris project. Steffen holds a master’s degree in International Migration and Intercultural Relations from the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) at the University of Osnabruck (Germany). His research interests include survey methods, international migration, mobility, integration and transnationalism. |

| Bernhard Weßels | Bernhard Weßels is Deputy Director of the Research Unit ‘Democracy & Democratization’ at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and professor of political science at Humboldt University Berlin. He is one of the project leaders of SoliKris, co-principal investigator of the German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES) and director of the Manifesto project MARPOR. He has received his doctorate from Free University Berlin where he also did his habilitation. He has widely published in the areas of political attitudes, political behavior, interest intermediation and political representation. | |
| Heiko Giebler | Heiko Giebler is a Senior Researcher in the Research Unit ‘Democracy & Democratization’ at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. He is one of the project leaders of SoliKris and head of the ‘Political Legitimacy in Times of Crisis’ - Project (WP1 of SoliKris) as well as the head of the project ‘Against Elites, Against Outsiders: Sources of Democracy Critique, Immigration Critique, and Right-Wing Populism.’ Among other tasks, he is associated with the German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES), the European Election Study Association (EES-A), and the Comparative Candidates Survey (CCS). Heiko received his doctorate from the Humboldt-University Berlin and was a guest research at the University of Sydney as well as the University of Exeter. He has published several peer-reviewed articles, special issues and edited volumes. | Constanza Sanhueza Petrarca |
Constanza Sanhueza Petrarca is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ‘Political Legitimacy in Times of Crisis’ - Project (WP1 of SoliKris) at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. She is also a Research Associate with the Varieties of Democracy Institute (V-Dem) at the University of Gothenburg and serves as Associate Editor of the academic journal Representation. Constanza received her PhD from the University of Mannheim. Before joining the WZB, she worked at Sciences Po Paris investigating descriptive and substantive representation across European democracies and with the Electoral Integrity Project at the University of Sydney.Her research interests include political institutions, voting behavior, parties, representation, immigration, political text analysis, survey research, and experiments. | Jale Tosun | Jale Tosun is the Principal Investigator of the constitutive project (AP4) “Marginalization of Young People”. After studying political and administrative science in Konstanz and Pavia, she completed her PhD at the University of Konstanz on the topic of transformative change of environmental policy in Latin America and Eastern Europe. Jale Tosun was a Research Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research before coming to Heidelberg in October 2013 as an assistant professor of International and Comparative Political Economy. She has been a professor of Political Science since March 2015. She is associated editor of the journal “Policy Sciences”. Her research activities concentrate on public policy, political economy, public administration, and European integration. | |
| Julia Weiß | Julia Weiß is a PhD student in the Project “Change through Crisis? Solidarity and Desolidarization in Germany and Europe” at Heidelberg University. She is particularly involved in WP4 “Marginalization of young people”, WP2 “Radicalization versus Solidarity”, and WP6 “Dissemination”. Julia studied political science and sociology at Mannheim University, University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Heidelberg University, where she received her master’s degree in 2017. Before joining the project, she worked as a researcher in the FP7-Project “Cultural Pathways to Economic Self-Sufficiency and Entrepreneurship (CUPESSE)” at Heidelberg University. Her research interests include the marginalization of young people, qualitative methods, the European Union, political participation, and intergenerational transmission processes. | |
| Anne-Marie Parth | Anne-Marie Parth is a PhD student in the Project “Change through Crisis? Solidarity and Desolidarization in Germany and Europe” at Heidelberg University. She is particularly involved in WP4 “Marginalization of young people” and WP6 “Dissemination“. Anne-Marie studied political science, psychology and economics at Heidelberg University and Leiden University (Netherlands) and finished her master’s degree with an experimental work concerning unconventional forms of participation. In her cumulative dissertation she takes a closer look at different policies and approaches reducing vertical and horizontal inequalities. As a student she already gained experiences in the field of civil-military relations in DFG-projects.
