Inhalt: Die Verfasserin unterstreicht die Relevanz einer europäischen Perspektive auf das Verhältnis der Basisinstitutionen Staat, Markt und Familie. Ausgehend von der These, dass Widersprüche und Ungleichzeitigkeiten den sozialen und kulturellen Wandel der Geschlechterverhältnisse prägen, wendet sie sich dem Strukturwandel der Familie und dessen Bezügen zu Arbeitsmarkt- und Sozialpolitik im europäischen Kontext zu. Dabei werden spezifische Geschlechterarrangements und Wohlfahrtskulturen herausgearbeitet und Perspektiven einer kritischen Geschlechterforschung aufgezeigt, die die Sorge für andere zum Maßstab einer gelingenden Sozialstaatlichkeit macht. Geschlechterverhältnisse und deren gerechte Ordnung stellen somit die Kernfrage einer zukunftsorientierten Sozialforschung insgesamt dar. (ICE2)

Inhalt: Die deutlich gestiegenen schulischen und beruflichen Bildungsniveaus von Frauen wie auch der Tendenz zu höherer und kontinuierlicher Erwerbsbeteiligung von Müttern hat die geschlechtsspezifische Segregation auf den Arbeitsmärkten kaum geändert. Deshalb gilt auch für Ansätze der Frauenforschung ungeachtet ihrer Erkenntnisgewinne, dass sie für die Analyse von aktuellen Segregationsprozessen, die gleichzeitig durch Reproduktion und Lockerung von Geschlechterungleichheit im globalen Maßstab, im Ländervergleich und innerhalb nationaler Arbeitsmärkte gekennzeichnet sind, der Weiterentwicklung bedürfen. Dies gilt umso mehr, als Geschlechterungleichheit im Arbeitsmarkt zunehmend als politisch-legitimatorische Herausforderung wahrgenommen wird. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden zunächst wichtige Erkenntnisse des älteren Diskurses zur Geschlechterungleichheit in kapitalistischen Arbeitsmärkten rekapituliert, um dann jüngere politökonomische und soziologische Erklärungsperspektiven vorzustellen, die Perspektiverweiterungen vor allem im Hinblick auf den Ländervergleich bereit stellen. Deren Erträge für eine gendersensible empirische Analyse des aktuellen Wandels von Arbeitsmärkten werden abschließend am Beispiel der Expansion von Wissensökonomie und prekärer Beschäftigung diskutiert.
