Inhalt: Objective: To evaluate the quality of life in mastectomized women enrolled in a rehabilitation program, according to sociodemographic and clinical variables. Methods: This is a descriptive study, conducted at the Rehabilitation Program for Mastectomized Women, at Espirito Santo, Brazil. The sample consisted of 53 women interviewed according to the standards of Visual-Analogue Quality of Life Scale for Head and Neck Cancer Carriers adapted to Breast Cancer Carriers with the consent of the authors. The data received statistical analysis by SPSS version 17.0 software and sociodemographic variables were assessed using Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: It was found that younger women without breast reconstruction married and submitted to chemotherapy or hormonal therapy had greater loss of quality of life. Conclusion: Therefore, there is the importance of interventions to promote a better quality of life for these patients, with effective interdisciplinary action by the health team.

Inhalt: Objective: to analyze the feelings of women in a support group for the changes caused by mastectomy. Method: descriptive study with a qualitative approach, performed in a support group for women with mastectomies in Cajazeiras, in the state of Paraíba, Brazil, in June and July 2014, with 20 subjects. It was used a semi-structured interview for data collection. The analysis was performed using the methodological process of the Collective Subject Discourse. Results: it was evident that women have adopted a unique way of face the breast cancer varying between negative feelings, concern about a move away from their children, closer spirituality and natural acceptance of the disease. Conclusions: importantly, from the understanding of these feelings, the nurse can build an appropriate care plan for the health needs of this target audience, thus providing a more efficient, effective and humane action.

Inhalt: Objective: To characterize the knowledge of university students in the health area of breast cancer in women, whereas the academic health fits into the contemporary woman profile and that breast cancer is the disease that affects more women. Método: descriptive, qualitative research with 11 university students of nursing and medicine courses in a public University of Paraná, between April and June 2012. Results: Data analysis was performed according to the 6 steps suggested by John W. Creswell and the referential Edgar Morin about knowledge and its dimensions: the context size, global, multidimensional and complex dimension. Conclusion: Knowledge about breast cancer, goes beyond the set of information that involves implementation of public policies and programs, but also refers to the involvement and awareness of professionals who will work in this area.

Inhalt: "Aktuelle Arbeiten der gender und science studies attackieren die 'moderne' dualistische Unterscheidung zwischen Natur und Kultur. Ihr Hauptkritikpunkt richtet sich gegen die Konzipierung der Moderne als ein Projekt wissenschaftlich-technische Rationalität, das zwischen politischer und epistemologischer Repräsentation, zwischen Kultur und Natur strikt trennt, gemäß der Vorstellung von Kultur als Ergebnis immanenter zeitlich und räumlich gebundener Verhandlungen und Konstruktionsleistungen und Natur als transzendenter Bereich von Universalität, Fakten und Wahrheit. Stattdessen wird auf die 'Bruchstellen' und 'unbeabsichtigten Nebenfolgen' dieser Unterscheidung verwiesen, mit dem Ziel, die vielfältigen Phänomene und Verschränkungen zwischen Natur und Kultur aufzuzeigen und sie gleichzeitig theoretisch wie theoriewissenschaftlich neu zu rahmen. Ausgehend von Bruno Latours und Michel Callons Actor-Network Theory und Donna Haraways 'Cyborg-Mythos' fokussiert der Beitrag die (Neu-)Konzeption von Natur und Kultur im Kontext poststrukturalistischer Theorien.
