(Autorenreferat)
Inhalt: "This contribution focuses on the question of whether, and to what extent, the scientific labor market is currently changing. The essential starting point of investigation is the traditional characteristics of scientific labor markets: these highlight the scientists' orientation towards the aspect of reputation, which as well as wage levels is a central valuation criterion. In addition, the loose coupling between scientists and the scientific organization they are employed by is typical, and the consequence of this: long phases of contracting defined by insecurity. Observed current trends are analyzed - to identify whether new strengths at the organizational level within universities or a changing relationship between science and practice, call these characteristics into question. The results are ambivalent: on the one hand, some of the principles remain untouched. So that, for example, the strengthening of organizational capacities within universities does not lead to the creation, or to a stabilization, of internal labor markets. On the other hand, some job specifications for scientists are indeed changing. However, the consequences for the specific work of scientists, and for the systems of recognition, remain a question for further research." (author's abstract)
