Inhalt: There recently was a highly emotional debate in Germany regarding what to teach children about sexual plurality; different actors accuse each other of wrongful indoctrination. This paper presents a computational model based on the results of the SINUS youth study 2016 indicating that the dynamics of adolescents finding their own stance towards sexual plurality are resilient towards external pressure by clerical or government activities. Instead, civil society plays a strong role in the process of children developing their own opinions. This underlines that values in society can be reproduced between generations.

Titelübersetzung:Masculinity in crisis? On the importance of male gender identity and defence of femininity in changing working conditions

Inhalt: The current transformation of labor relations leads to an increasing intensification of social conflict. This has an effect on both the relationship between work and subjectivity as well as on gender relations and the social construction of masculinity. In this paper it will be important to increase the transformation processes as well as its importance for the constitution of masculinity from psychoanalytic-social psychological perspective into view. It will be a question the popular assumption that these processes have led to damage to the male gender identity to the sequence to be subjected to critical reflection. In contrast to the thesis will be argued that the current ›crisis of work society‹ is processed on the basis of traditional male identity constructions and for his reason stabilizes and reproduces androcentric and misogynist masculinity concepts.

(Autorenreferat)
Inhalt: "The article provides an example of psycho-societal analysis of work related learning. Initially a conceptual framework of learning and life experience is established drawing on Alfred Lorenzer and Oskar Negt, and the interactional development of psychoanalysis. A case of learning experience from research into a retraining program for unskilled workers, exposing a very conflictual subjective experience of a traineeship, is presented and commented. The worker's experience is interpreted focusing on the gender aspects of the conflicts, seeing the learning process in the context of a work identity process, which is related to a career shift enforced by labor market transition requiring male workers to retrain for a social work profession which used to be female, and more widely to a reconfiguration of the societal relation between work and gender. The final section discusses the methodological framework for analyzing learning processes by means of interpreting language use. The notion of language game connects the level of unconscious social engagements and level of formal learning and knowledge, and the opportunity for a deeper understanding of professional learning and identity is indicated by reference to one more example."

(Autorenreferat)
Inhalt: "In this report gender socialization processes should be discussed at the child age and youth age regarding recognition-theoretical approaches and interactional considerations. Extravagating, social labeling, disregards, superiority imperatives, devaluations, and refused recognition are significant not only in the context of xenophobia and politically motivated force, but also mark social practices within the scope of conflict interactions and struggles between genders. On the basis of the results of a qualitative research project with children and youngsters both genders, it can be shown that in the infancy gender conflicts are more likely marked by exceed boundaries, whereas disputes at the youth age concern sexual conflicts with the purpose of reciprocal devaluations." The humorous stylization of "new" women and men and conservative others

Quelle: Style and social identities : alternative approaches to linguistic heterogeneity. Berlin (Language, power and social process), 2007, S 445-475
Inhalt: In this article I will discuss how a circle of middle-aged academics recreates its moral order of new gender standards by a consonant staging of the "others" and the "self" – "them" vs. "us". The progressive self as well as the conservative other with whom the self is confronted are exaggeratedly stylized in a similarly disjunctive way over the course of various stories. Hyper-stylization sharpens a juxtaposition of social types which is humorously overdrawn. The comical performance becomes a factor of amusement for the group.
