Inhalt: Objective: Understand the impact of HIV in everyday life of women living with AIDS. Method: A qualitative study involving 11 women attending a center of information on STD/HIV/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis in a city in northeastern semiarid, with data collected by semi-structured interview and interpreted by content analysis. Results: It was evident that the everyday life of women with HIV/AIDS suffers repercussions in the sexuality, by the reduction in sexual relations, discoveries of new forms of pleasure by couple and increase in personal and social responsibility after diagnosis. Moreover, there was the emergence of negative and positive feelings and the search for ways of coping of disease. Conclusion: It is concluded the necessity and importance of nursing to direct health interventions for these women, demonstrating the possibilities of pleasure, satisfaction with life and living with the disease.

The obstetrical and newborn profile of postpartum women in maternities in São Paulo

Inhalt: Objective: To describe the sociodemographic and obstetric profile of postpartum women in São Paulo, to check the perinatal data and to identify the type of delivery. Method: A descriptive, cross-sectional study involving 424 postpartum women. Data was collected through structured interviews and medical records. We used descriptive statistics for analysis. Results: There was a predominance of women between 21 and 30 years (60,6%), mulatto (55,2%), high school education (65,8%), without payment (57,3%), with a partner ( 85,4%), primiparous (34,9%) and without previous abortion (78.8%). The vaginal delivery was performed in 58,3% of women. Most newborns were male (52,2%), with appropriate weight and height (89,5% and 80,7%), and na Apgar score between eight and ten in the first minutes of life (> 90,0%). Conclusion: There was a predominance of women with little education and unfavorable financial conditions, factors that hinder access to health services, contributing to increased maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.

Experiences of mothers of premature infants in the context of spirituality

Inhalt: Objective: to understand how mothers of preterm infants perceive the relationship between health and spirituality and its benefits on the severity health picture of their children. Method: qualitative research with 32 mothers whose children were admitted to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a maternity hospital in Natal/RN/Brazil. There were semi-structured interviews and focus groups between February and May 2012, after a favorable opinion from the Ethics Committee in Research of UFRN and CAAE 0336.0.051.000.1. Data analysis was thematic analysis. Results: the relationship between health and spirituality was unveiled in the study as a positive phenomenon helping mothers avoiding discouragement and keeping hope in restoring the health of the child in the Intensive Care Unit. Conclusion: it is suggested after the results, actions and projects that promote soft technologies, aiming at promoting and completeness in health care.

Inhalt: Objective: analyzing the values expressed in the speech of women/mothers in the accessibility of monitoring examinations of prenatal care. Method: a phenomenological, descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach. There were interviwed fifty women/pregnant of the Prenatal Program of Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The data analyzed allowed formulating themes articulated with the Theory of Values. Results: barriers experienced by women on laboratory/images examinations: delay in results, misinformation and lack of a service of quality, a value considered of vital use for them. We realize the need for change in monitoring prenatal, considering a network of unified and integrated health with quality services at different levels of care, promoting wellness, comfort and safety to pregnant women as a vital value to their health. Conclusion: the health network should be unified for a better quality of services offered to women.

Inhalt: Objective: Recognizing the concerns of primiparous women about labor and birth, the nurse identify
actions to mitigating the feelings of women. Method: this was a descriptive, exploratory research,
qualitative in nature, with six primiparous women rooming at the University Hospital Antonio Pedro
through semistructured interviews and analyzed with the principles of thematic analysis, after approval by
the Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Antonio Pedro, under nº 218 283. Results: in the data
analysis, the results showed their feelings and expectations regarding their relationship with labor and
birth, such as fear, insecurity and anxiety. However, the presence of a companion proved to be important
for inhibition of these feelings. Conclusion: the health professional should facilitate and promote care to
the mother, with a resulting assistance of a trust and bond.

Inhalt: Objective: To discuss the social representations of women with chronic wounds about being a woman and having a body injured and the implications of these representations on social relations. Methods: Qualitative research with women with chronic wounds, attended at health units in Bahia who answered the interview in depth and draft-story theme. The data were submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: Representations about being a woman and having a wounded body are centered on ideas and experiences that reveal stigma, pain, sadness, loneliness, irritation, dependence, and the need to approach God. Conclusion: The representations of the participants interfere in the way of dressing, of relating to oneself and to the people in their surroundings implying in isolation and solitude. Representations reproduce stigmas about body image that do not meet socially and culturally determined beauty and health criteria.

Inhalt: Objective: Characterizing and analyzing the socio-cultural profile of the women who have experienced sexual violence that were answered in a unit of reference linked to the Municipal Health and Civil Defense of Rio de Janeiro. Method: a descriptive, exploratory in the quantitative approach. Data were collected between November 2011 and March 2012 totaling in 157 records. Results: most women raped are young, white, unmarried, middle level education and has some form of financial income. Conclusion: the data corroborates the fact that sexual violence focus at all levels of education and in all social classes. Meeting the reality of these women is fundamental to a comprehensive and humanized assistance. The proposed deal must be formulated both from the socio-cultural characteristics of women, as a joint construction between professionals and clients.

Inhalt: Objective: to know the social representations of older women on the Pap smear. Method: exploratory qualitative approach, conducted with 30 women attending the Family Health Unit Maria de Nazaré in the city of João Pessoa / PB. Data were analyzed with the help of the Alceste software. Results: analysis by Alceste pointed six classes or categories, covering both positive and negative associated with this examination, as images relating to the examination; positioning of older front of the examination; indications of the exam; exam; beliefs about the examination and justification for noncompliance. Conclusion: the social representations about Papanicolaou Test for elderly enables to offer health education actions that try to minimize socio-cultural barriers of these older, greater adherence of women to screening test considering the social context and their livings.

Inhalt: Objective: To characterize climacteric women according to the socio-economic and demographic profile, beyond analyzing the life habits and food and clinical-laboratorial profiles and gynecological characteristics. Methods: This is a descriptive study, of a quantitative approach, evaluated with 59 hypertensive women in climacterium, enrolled in Hiperdia, the Program of the Ministry of Health in São Luís-Maranhão. Results: It was found that this group is characterized mostly by women withbrown color, in old age, with low education, working at home, have no smoking or consuming alcohol, do not exercise, do diet, already entered to menopause starting between 45 and 49 years old. Conclusion: It was found in this study the importance of health professionals of this level of complexity to develop strategies for early diagnosis, prevention, health promotion to hypertensive women during the climacterium.

Sociodemographic factors associated with mortality of women in fertile age in Rio Grande do Norte

Inhalt: Objective: Identifying sociodemographic factors associated with mortality of women in fertile age in Rio Grande do Norte in the period from 2006 to 2010. Method: a descriptive, quantitative study with collected data through the Mortality Information System and processed by the test of association chi-square. Results: 59.1% of the deaths occurred from preventable causes and the main underlying causes: cancer, heart disease and circulatory system and external causes. Deaths grow proportionally with age and were associated with: educational attainment, occupation and origin of the institution of occurrence. Conclusion: the results indicate weaknesses in the quality of care and point to the need of investing in actions that reduce inequality in access to primary care services that ensure quality and resolution at all levels of health care.
