Inhalt: Objective: To characterize climacteric women according to the socio-economic and demographic profile, beyond analyzing the life habits and food and clinical-laboratorial profiles and gynecological characteristics. Methods: This is a descriptive study, of a quantitative approach, evaluated with 59 hypertensive women in climacterium, enrolled in Hiperdia, the Program of the Ministry of Health in São Luís-Maranhão. Results: It was found that this group is characterized mostly by women withbrown color, in old age, with low education, working at home, have no smoking or consuming alcohol, do not exercise, do diet, already entered to menopause starting between 45 and 49 years old. Conclusion: It was found in this study the importance of health professionals of this level of complexity to develop strategies for early diagnosis, prevention, health promotion to hypertensive women during the climacterium.

Inhalt: Objective: Identifying sociodemographic factors associated with mortality of women in fertile age in Rio Grande do Norte in the period from 2006 to 2010. Method: a descriptive, quantitative study with collected data through the Mortality Information System and processed by the test of association chi-square. Results: 59.1% of the deaths occurred from preventable causes and the main underlying causes: cancer, heart disease and circulatory system and external causes. Deaths grow proportionally with age and were associated with: educational attainment, occupation and origin of the institution of occurrence. Conclusion: the results indicate weaknesses in the quality of care and point to the need of investing in actions that reduce inequality in access to primary care services that ensure quality and resolution at all levels of health care.

Inhalt: Objective: To identify the profile of women participating in the Extension Program "Nursing in the Health Care of the Elderly and their Caregivers" (known as EASIC). Method: This is a documentary research with quantitative data approach, conducted between the months of June and July 2010, at the EASIC. The data processing took place by means of simple percentage frequency. Results: of 458 women served in the EASIC, 44,1% were aged from 71 to 80 years; 30,1% were married; 16,2% received one minimum wage; 36,7% had not finished the Elementary School; 20,1% were catholic; 53,9% lived in the city of Niterói and 63,1% had associations of several diseases. Conclusion: the knowledge of the profile of the clientele to be served is crucial for identifying the demands and health needs, by respecting the skills and preserving the resilience of this population.

Inhalt: Zur Untersuchung des Zusammenhangs zwischen Ausländerdiskriminierung und arbeitsbedingten Gesundheitsrisiken wird zunächst allgemein die Entwicklung der gesundheitlichen Lage der Ausländer dargestellt. Dabei wird ein globaler Trend zur eklatanten Verschlechterung der gesundheitlichen Lage der ausländischen Arbeitnehmer in unserem Land gegenüber den Anfangsjahren der Migration festgestellt. In Abgrenzung zu stigmatisierenden Deutungsmustern wird dann der Einfluß der strukturellen Ungleichheit der Arbeitsmigranten hinsichtlich Belastungen und Zumutungen in der Arbeitswelt auf ihre Gesundheitschancen und Erkrankungsrisiken untersucht. Aus der Ungleichverteilung in den Beschäftigungschancen werden erste plausible Erklärungen für die überdurchschnittlichen Erkrankungsrisiken der Ausländer entwickelt. Dabei stellt sich heraus, daß nicht alle Ausländer gleich betroffen sind: Besonders benachteiligt in bezug auf Gesundheitschancen und Erkrankungsrisiken sind einerseits die Türken und andererseits die ausländischen Frauen. Aufgrund der herausgearbeiteten Ursachen ausländerspezifischer Gesundheitsrisiken werden dann Maßnahmen diskutiert, die über die üblicherweise als Ergebnis der Ausländergesundheitsforschung im Vordergrund stehenenden Forderungen nach einer Verbesserung der sozialen und medizinischen Versorgung und einer systematischen Berücksichtigung kultureller und sozialer Besonderheiten des ausländischen Patientenkollektivs hinausreichen.
