The research will be based on the analysis of the election programs regarding the Parliamentary elections in 1990, 2002 and2011. The analysis will cover the development of the gender sensitivity in the election programs of SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE for the period of two decades.

Inhalt: Discrimination against women based on the fact that they are women is a deeply rooted practice in all societies. However, the level of discrimination varies greatly with the level of development of the given society and strongly influences and vice versa it is influenced by the status of women in a given society. Addressing this gender-based discrimination is a difficult task because it is closely linked to the concept of equality, and state’s action and inactions. The article establishes that the States parties’ obligation is to ensure that there is no direct or indirect discrimination against women in their laws, sanctions, and other remedies and those women are protected against discrimination in the public, as well as, in the private spheres.

Inhalt: Government of India effectively moving in the way of successive path in advancing gender
parity in higher education According to the most recent All India Survey on Higher Education it
is only about 3% fewer women enroll in higher education comparing to men. This indicates the
tremendous achievement of government of India. The fundamental intention behind is
empowering women in the entire sector’s.
University Grants Commission of India, Ministry of
higher education in India believes that a safe, secure and cohesive learning climate
is an
ineluctable precondition to quality education and research in Higher Education Institutes. It
should be the prime concern of educational administrators across the country to ensure that
students are safeguarded against attacks, threats and accidents, both man-
made and natural. It’s
just like the formula of SSS (safety, security and study). And also there is a suggestion by the
government of India to all the higher educational institutes, all universities may to have their
ordinance of their own and relevant statutory provisions to ensure the directions contained in the
guidelines are implemented in the best interests of student community.

Inhalt: Gender Equality has not yet been achieved in many western countries. Switzerland in particular has failed as a forerunner in integrating women in politics and economy. Taking Switzerland as a case study, the authors critically reflect the state of gender equality in different policy areas such as education, family and labour. The collection of articles reveals how gender policies and cultural contexts interact with social practices of gender (in)equality. They also outline the gender(ed) effects of recent changes and reform strategies for scientists, politicians and practitioners. Despite considerable successes at the legal and societal level, equality between women and men has not yet been achieved in many western countries. This is true also for Switzerland, where gender equality issues increasingly are being highlighted. This book critically reflects the state of gender equality in Switzerland by focusing on key areas of gender policy such as education, labour, and the private sphere, especially in the context of economic and social change. The articles are based on multi-disciplinary perspectives as well as innovative methods in studying gender (in)equality. All chapters refer to the National Research Program 60 on 'Gender Equality' (2010-2014) launched by the Swiss National Science Foundation which aimed at generating knowledge on the complex conditions for gender equality in Switzerland. The chapters of this book highlight the 'evidence' and impact of current gender equality policies and objectives. The authors investigate the gender-relevant implications of important policy areas, some of which are still rarely discussed, such as social investment, tax or working time policies. They discuss interdependencies between gender and other categories of social difference, e.g. social class, and also illustrate the meaning of these intersections with respect to the outcomes and limitations of public policies. Further, the articles are dedicated to the analyses of the complex reasons for persisting gender inequalities in the world of work, care and education by looking especially at the interfaces and the transitions between those social fields. The book provides nuanced insight into how gender policies and cultural contexts interact with social practices of gender (in)equality and reflects the media and public reception of scientific studies on gender inequality. It is directed to social and political scientists and yields important information on effective strategies and their relevance to gender equality for politicians and practitioners today.
Titelübersetzung:The position of female biographical identity in the political space: a biography-analytical approach to the study of career opportunities of East German female politicians

Inhalt: "The following article makes a contribution to the study of opportunities and difficulties of female East German political mandate holders, and justifies the use of an analytical biography approach. The article is empirically based on the results of my dissertation project East German women in politics. A qualitative analysis. In this present paper I discuss the reasons why exactly the biography-analytical approach is suitable to explore topics of the intertwining of 'outer' life course and 'inner' sedimentation of biographical experiences. The key results of my study are outlined. It is shown that especially the rapid political and socio-cultural change within the former GDR in 1989/1990 offered unique participation opportunities for politically ambitious East German women to pursue a career as parliamentarians after a radically new political scene had been set up. The article also focuses on the paradoxes that the contemporary female mandate holders tend to be confronted with; these paradoxes are exacerbated by the ascribed genderized roles of female politicians. On the empirical base of my (finished) research project, this paper attempts to generate analytical categories and to discuss with their help the work and life situation of women socialized in East Germany within political arenas. The analysis will be pursued in a biography-theoretical perspective, and some ofthe particular features of the field of research of East German women in politics will be formulated." Unbewusstes Diskriminieren - Sozialpsychologische Effekte und mögliche Lösungsansätze
Autor/in:
Vollmer, Lina
