To protect staff and students at Philipps-Universität Marburg against sexual harassment and violence, in 2008 the Senate passed a guideline that applies to all members, doctoral researchers, researchers preparing for habilitation, visitors, and persons with additional or unpaid responsibilities at the university. It encompasses protection against sexual harassment and violence on university premises and outlines the complaints procedure. There is a confidential advisory team to deal with complaints and questions. This advisory team can also initiate a complaints procedure.
It assesses the seriousness of an allegation or incident and discusses with the affected party whether a personal meeting for clarification would be appropriate or whether further measures must be taken by the university leadership. There is a flyer explaining briefly and clearly the most important contacts, forms of sexual harassment and advice on what to do if you experience harassment.
