Center for Gender Relations in Academia

INKA

The toolbox INKA is a database on gender equality practice and contains over 300 quality-tested model examples of gender equality measures from universities and research institutions in Germany. The toolbox gives scientific organizations the opportunity to gain ideas and inspiration for the design of their equal opportunity objectives or policies. The examples provided are selected in a quality-assured process to ensure that they are of high quality and thematically varied. CEWS cooperates with the German Rectors' Conference in the context of implementing the voluntary commitment to gender equality in appointments. In order to monitor the corresponding measures, a new field of action has been created: appointment procedures. These FAQ (120 kB) apply to the self-reporting process regarding appointment procedures. The general FAQ can be found here.

On October 10, 2025, an informational event was held to provide practical guidance on the field of action “appointment procedures.” The slides (in German) are linked here (1.90 MB) and can also be found on the German Rectors' Conference website.
