The Research Data Centre (RDC) Elections is located at GESIS and offers researchers access to survey and election data. Furthermore, by processing and documenting the data, the RDC Wahlen grants long-term usability for research and teaching, scientific value-added services, knowledge transfer and research. The project is linked to GESIS' focus on survey and election research. Among other things, this includes federal and state elections, the political barometer and various individual studies. In 2009, the German Longitudinal Election Study (GLES) was added as the largest project. The RDC Wahlen has also been part of the research data infrastructure of the Council for Social and Economic Data (RatSWD) since 2009.
The core tasks of the RDC Wahlen:
- Preparation and provision of election and survey data
- User consulting and provision of value-added services
